Game Ideas

Getting bored of the normal game? Stuck for solo play ideas? Try some of these:

  • You don't have to use one treasure. I can be fun to use three or five and the winner is the one with most.
  • How about if you cannot restart if you die. Or, to make things really hard, any impairment (stuck, hit etc) takes you out of the game.
  • The goal doesn't have to be to find the treasure. You could play to be the first to kill five creatures, or be the first to kill a bear.
  • Try suicide missions- the first to die wins. Or, if you die, you swap places with the opponent at highest depth.
  • Handicaps could be used- no searching, 2 on all abilities or even no hand at all.

Winner takes all

Players: Any even number (the more the better)      Location type: Any

Treasure Room: none                                            Map size: 4 wide by (no. of players) deep

Start the map: Place an entrance at each side of the map at every second depth (1, 4, 7, 10 etc)

Each player starts at an entrance location with a piece of treasure. The aim is to get everyone else's treasure. You can only get their treasure be killing them (not by steal item or such a card). If they die from a trap, the treasure is placed on that location and given to the first raider to search there. The winner is the first player to own all of the treasures.

Ownership

Players: 2 or more                                                            Location type: Any

Treasure room:  none                                                       Map size:  4 wide by 12 deep

Starting equipment: You will need a timer and a number of colored tokens (one color per player).

Set the timer to 10+  minuets (I suggest 20). The aim here is to own as many locations as possible. To own a location, you must be there in the draw round and place a token of your color onto it. If it is already owned, replace the token with yours. But here's the catch- if you die, all your tokens are removed. The winner is the player with the most tokens on the board when the time is up.

The possibilities are endless. Have you come up with a good idea? Contact me and I might put it here.
